In my opinion, the 4th of July means that summer is finally here. We are done with June Gloom, and the heat has definitely set in, welcomed or not. Since this year I have assumed duties as a human incubator for Babe #2, I'm actually wishing for some cooler weather, but I know it's all worth it once the evening hits and we can eat outdoors (woohooo, new grill and patio furniture!).
Anyway, this year we took a stroll down to our little community's lake where they were having a parade! (Well, we drove half way, thank goodness, since we were scared it would get ridiculously hot later on, which, of course, it did.) Carter led the way on his trike, and we followed along first super pumped for the festivities, then almost comatose from dealing with the heat. Alleluia for full blast air conditioning on the way home!
Here we are after first stepping out of the car, excited as all heck:
......Yep, the heat had not set in fully at that point.
Anyway, our agenda for the rest of the day:
*Wait for Carter to wake up from his nap
*Maybe some pool time with the sister and her familia
*Dinner on our deck (woooohoooo!)
*FIREWORKS!
